What
to expect when starting your training program with the STP
First
Quarter Training: Every STP employee will
be required to complete the following three (3) training
classes during their first quarter of employment in the
Program: Introduction
to ACM and the STP, Customer Service Training, Specific
Area Training.
Subsequent
Quarters: Each quarter thereafter, all employees will be
required to complete two (2) professional development
classes to retain their position within the Program.
Professional development training is aimed at providing
employees with a variety of life skills, making them more

Specific work area training is a broad topic and will differ
depending upon the area employed. Area training can vary
from log on and off procedures in the Self-Instructional
Labs to setting up audio/visual equipment in Media Services
Special Events. The aim is that area staff will provide
this type of in-depth area training, in addition technical
cross-training we will be requiring of most work areas with
the hopes of maximizing staffing hours.
At the request of ACM staff, technical cross-training will
be required in the majority of work areas throughout ACM.
Although technical cross-training will be required of almost
every work area, the main areas technical cross-training
targets are: Self-Instructional Computer Labs, Student Technology
Support Center, Assistive Computing Resource Center, Media
Services, Coyote OneCard, and Special Events. Cross-training
of these work areas will give employees a greater, hands-on
understanding of the functions of ACM, as well as maximize
staffing hours, especially during peak periods throughout
the year.
