Job Position Name: STP Training Manager

 

Wage Ranges: Starting at $10.25 per hour

 

ACM Service Overview:

The Student Technician Program (STP) hires and trains students for some of the most technically advanced and in-demand positions available at CSUSB. Averaging sixty student employees throughout the academic school year, STP is the largest single on-campus department of student employees.

 

Position Overview:

The Training Manager supports the responsibilities of the Operations Manager in the day to day communication between the ACM Director, STP Coordinator, and Area Supervisors with the program.

 

Qualifications:

STP Training Manager candidates will have the following experience, skills, interests, and abilities:

  • Ability to effectively communicate with STP employees and ACM staff
  • Advanced skill with Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and with Blackboard online course management programs
  • Familiarity with the ACM Self-Instructional Computer Lab network and functions
  • Experience providing end-user support in a computer lab environment
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Advanced-level problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Professional work habits are essential

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and schedule STP training workshops
  • Create and maintain online component of STP Training via Blackboard
  • Present Intro to STP and ACM workshop and others as needed
  • Assist STP employees with professional development plans
  • Create/maintain employment files for current and newly hired employees
  • Create/maintain contact list of STP employees
  • Maintain all STP Employee files
  • Coordinate with ACM staff to determine training needs of STP employees
  • Present STSC make-up workshops as needed
  • Ensure STSC Training Consultants are equipped to facilitate STP Training workshops
  • Create/maintain STSC Training Consultant work schedules
  • Evaluation of STSC Training Consultants (quarterly and annually)

 

Reports to: STP Coordinator

 

Evaluation:

Performance evaluation is done by the STP Operations Manager in conjunction with STP Coordinator

 

Career Path:

After a period of service, the STP Training Manager is eligible to move within other STP Management positions.
