Job Position Name: STP Operations Manager

 

Wage Ranges: Starting at $10.25 per hour

 

AC M Service Overview:

The Student Technician Program (STP) hires and trains students for some of the most technically advanced and in-demand positions available at CSUSB. Averaging sixty student employees throughout the academic school year, STP is the largest single on-campus department of student employees.

 

Position Overview:

The Operations Manager is the highest level of student-based decision making in STP. In this position, the student manager is held accountable for being the main communication for the ACM Director and STP Coordinator with the program.

 

Qualifications

  • STP Operations Manager candidates will have the following experience, skills, interests, and abilities:
  • At least one year experience of STP Management including an annual evaluation
  • Strong knowledge of the structure and processes of STP.
  • Cross training experience in at least two (2) different areas of Academic Computing and Media, or have had leadership position(s) in the area(s) assigned
  • Must have consistently high ratings in evaluations.
  • Understanding of Student Technician Program policies and guidelines
  • Satisfactory attendance of training workshops from previous quarters
  • Ability to work with software programs including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Timeclock, and internet applications
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with fellow employees and supervisors
  • Highly demonstrable Organizational abilities
  • Highly demonstrable Communication abilities

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervision of all STP Supervisors, Assistant Managers and Training Managers.
  • Maintain and update budget given by the ACM Director.
  • Directly involved with the evaluation and restructuringof the STP Program.
  • Work with department Administrative Assistant regarding STP students employment requirements.
  • Work with ACM employees in recruitment and staffing of Step 3-6 students
  • Develop monthly pay report, report hours to department Administrative Assistant and print out timesheets.
  • Develop Foundation timesheets twice a month.
  • Coordinate and supervise quarterly evaluations of all STP employees.
  • Review Annual Evaluations and determine who is eligible for a pay increased based on evaluations and portfolio.
  • Maintain and update required forms, documents, and Timeclock Manager.
  • Assure that all MOU conditions are met by STP.
  • Directly involved in all disciplinary issues.
  • Prepare and present any information or spreadsheets to the ACM Director and STP Coordinator as needed.
  • Have a positive attitude towards all ACM personnel, and lead by example.

 

Reports to:

ACM Director and STP Coordinator.

 

Evaluation:

Student is evaluated quarterly and annually by ACM Director and STP Coordinator.

 

 

Career Path:

After a period of service, the STP Area Supervisor  is eligible to move within other STP Management positions.
