Desktop Computer w/ CD/DVD and Zip Drive
VIEW PODIUM
After turning on the computer, select PC on the control panel located under the keyboard. Note: You may need a password to access the computer. Use the numeric keyboard to enter the password.
Laptop
(not included in classroom)
VIEW EXAMPLE
Each equipment cabinet provides the ability to connect a laptop to the video projector.  Extending from the podium (behind the monitor) you will find a monitor and audio cable. Connect all the cables before you turn on your laptop. Select Portable PC on the control panel. To connect your own laptop to the campus network, please contact Media Services.
Control Panels - Extron

The control panel (Extron) is located on top of the podium. Pressing the DISPLAY POWER button will turn on or off the video projector. The control panel is also used to display other devices. Select VCR to display a video tape or DVD. Select PC to show something from the desktop computer.  You can also control the sound from the control panel by turning the knob.
Light and Screen Controls
Controls for all the lights in the room are located on the wall.  The switch to lower or raise the screen is on the wall to the right of the podium. It has a silver plate and looks just like a regular light switch.
Wireless Mouse

If you need a wireless mouse you can pick one up from Media Services or your department office. To enable the wireless mouse, place the mouse in the base station, located next to the monitor and press the small middle button. A green light will flash.

To operate  the mouse away from the table, place your index finger underneath the mouse to depress the activation button. The cursor moves only when the activation button is depressed. You can use your thumb to click the mouse buttons. At the end of your class, please return the mouse. The wireless mouse should not be left in the equipment rack.
Cassette Player - dual deck
To use the Cassette player, select TAPE1 on the TEAC amplifier.
DVD/VCR Player Combo
To use the VCR, turn on the VCR and insert your VHS tape into the VCR and press play. Select Video or DVD/VCR combo on the control panel. Note: If you hear a noise from the VCR, use the tracking adjustment or channel up/down to rid of it.
Overhead Transparency Projector  
The overheads are located in front of the classroom.
Slide Projector
To use the slide projector, use the AMX remote located in the podium drawer or in the booth in the back of the classroom. Keys for the booth can be obtained from your department office.
Video Projector

To use the video projector press the DISPLAY POWER button on the control panel.  It will take a few minutes for the projector to warm up.  To turn off the projector, hold down the DISPLAY POWER button on the control panel for about 2 seconds.
Sound Adjustments
To adjust the volume (other than the cordless mic), use the VOLUME knob on the control panel, located on top of the podium. To use the MIC turn it on and adjust the volume with the SHURE wireless receiver.
Assistive Technology
Assistive Hearing devices and microphones are available to students who are hearing impaired. Please tell your students that they can check out a device from Services to Students with Disabilities in University Hall (UH-183).
