Control Panel - Extron

The control panel (Extron) is located on top of the podium. Pressing the DISPLAY POWER button will turn on or off the video projector. The control panel is also used to display other devices. Select VCR to display a video tape or DVD. Select PC to show something from the desktop computer. You can also control the sound from the control panel by turning the knob. To operate a laptop, select Portable PC on the Extron control panel. Use the control panel to adjust VOLUME.
Desktop Computer w/ CD/DVD and Zip Drive
After turning on the computer, select PC on the control panel located under the keyboard. Note: You may need a password to access the computer. Use the numeric keyboard to enter the password.
Laptop
(not included in classroom)
SEE AN EXAMPLE
Each equipment cabinet provides the ability to connect a laptop to the video projector.  Located in the equipment drawer are a monitor cable, audio cable, and internet/data cable. Connect all the cables before you turn on the laptop. To connect your own laptop to the campus network, please contact Media Services.
Sound Adjustments
For sound source selection and volume control (other than the cordless mic), use the VOLUME knob on the control panel, located on top of the podium.
Light and Screen Controls

Controls for all the lights in the room are located on the wall to the right of the telephone.  The switch to lower or raise the screen is also on the wall control box (all switches are labeled). Move the switch to the left to lower the screen and to the right to raise it.
Wireless Microphone

To use the microphone turn the switch to the ON position. Be sure that the lever on the side is also in the ON position and not MUTE.  You can adjust the volume with the volume knob at the top of the podium. If there is no microphone, or low batteries, call 5060 from a campus phone. Uses a 9 volt battery
Cassette Player - dual deck
To use the Cassette player, select Tape on the Extron panel.
DVD/VCR Player Combo
To use the DVD/VCR insert the DVD or VHS tape and press "play." Select VCR on the control panel. Note: If you hear a noise from the VCR, use the tracking adjustment or channel up/down to rid of it.
Overhead Transparency Projector
The overhead is located in front of the classroom.
Slide Projector  w/ wireless remote
There are 2 slide projectors in PS-10. The slide projectors use the black, MX12 - AMX remote located in the podium drawer. Keys for the booth can be obtained from your department office.
Video Projector

To use the video projector press the DISPLAY POWER button on the control panel.  It will take a few minutes for the projector to warm up.  To turn off the projector, hold down the DISPLAY POWER button on the control panel for about 2 seconds.
Assistive Technology
Assistive Hearing devices and microphones are available to students who are hearing impaired. Please tell your students that they can check out a device from Services to Students with Disabilities in University Hall (UH-183).
