STSC Technology Workshop Series
The STSC Technology Workshop Series provides introductory instruction on a variety of applications available in the ACM Student Computer Labs. All STSC Technology Series Workshops are available to anyone who wishes to attend. See below for  Scheduled Workshops and Course Descriptions.

Course Descriptions:


Advanced Macintosh
The Advanced Macintosh workshop discusses many of the unique and little known characteristics of Macintosh computers and OS X. With an introduction to the iLife suite of applications, as well as discussing compatibility issues with Windows XP and Vista, this session is an excellent opportunity to ask specific questions about using the Mac for school and personal use. This workshop is designed for students with some experience or prior interest in using Macintosh computers.
Length: Approx. 60 minutes

 

Basic Macintosh
Are you Mac-Phobic? The Basic Macintosh workshop provides general information and instruction on using the Macintosh computer, Mac OS X, and related applications, with an emphasis on its similarities to Windows and PC computers. This is also an opportunity to ask specific questions about using the Mac for school and personal use. This workshop is designed for students with little or no experience in using Macintosh computers.
Length: Approx. 60 minutes

Excel Basics
The Microsoft Excel Basics workshop provides general information and instruction on using the core functions and features of Microsoft Excel. From basic formulas to creating charts and graphs, this workshop is designed for students with little or no experience in using MS Excel.
Length: Approx. 60 minutes

 

iMovie Basics
iMovie is a video-editing program which allows students to edit their own video projects in a simple, easy to use interface. This workshop briefly covers how students can import and edit video clips, add titles and music, and save them to a variety of formats including Quicktime files and DVDs. This workshop is designed for students with little or no experience in video editing or iMovie.
Length: Approx. 60 minutes

 

MyCoyote Workshop I
This first edition in a series of MyCoyote Workshops will walk students through the process of establishing a MyCoyote Account and a general overview of website functions. This is also an opportunity to ask specific questions about the MyCoyote website. 

Length: Approx. 30 minutes.

 

MyCoyote Workshop II
This second edition in a series of MyCoyote Workshops will review the process of registering for classes using MyCoyote including how to check for your enrollment appointment (registration date and time), check for holds, review your PAWS information, and a general overview of website functions. This is also an opportunity to ask specific questions about the MyCoyote website. 

Length: Approx. 60 minutes.

 

Using Blackboard
This workshop provides general information and instruction on troubleshooting and using Blackboard(tm) for accessing online course materials. This is also an opportunity to ask specific questions about using Blackboard.

Length: Approx. 60 minutes

TBA/Open Forum
This workshop provides general information on the ACM Student Computer Labs, including available services and applications, policies, and procedures. This is the perfect  opportunity to ask general or specific questions about the ACM Student Computer Labs.

Using CSUSB Email
This workshop provides general information about your CSUSB email account and using the CSUSB Email web-based interface (mail.csusb.edu).This is the perfect opportunity to ask general or specific questions about CSUSB email. 

Length: Approx. 30 minutes

 

Powerpoint Basics
This workshop provides general information and instruction on troubleshooting and using the Microsoft Powerpoint application. This is also an opportunity to ask specific questions about using Powerpoint. 

Length: Approx. 30 minutes

Word Basics
This workshop provides general information and instruction on troubleshooting and using the Microsoft Word application. This is also an opportunity to ask specific questions about using Word.

Length: Approx. 60 minutes
