Switch box

Turn on the power button located on the computer. Select RGB on the remote located in the drawer on the podium. For sound select PC on the receiver located in the black metal cabinet in the corner of the room. You must have a password to access the computer. Use the numeric keyboard to enter the password. Note: You must select button 1:COMPUTER on the small switchbox, located on top of the computer (CPU), located inside the podium.

In the front corner of the classroom, inside a metal cabinet, you will find the following items:
Receiver (Controls the output source and its volume)
Dual Cassette Player
DVD/VCR Combo
Shure Mic Receiver (Controls the microphone's power and volume)
Podium

The podium in HP-124 can be adjusted vertically by toggling the black switch located on the right-hand side as you stand in front of it. It also comes equipped with an electrical outlet on the upper right side of the wooden unit. Note: the podium itself needs to be plugged in. Use an oulet on the floor. Do not use the outlet on the podium.

To use your Laptop computer, connect the VGA monitor cable that extends from the drawer of the podium to the back of your laptop. Note: You must select button 2:LAPTOP on the small switchbox, located on top of the computer (CPU), located inside the podium.
Light Controls
Controls for the lights are on the left as you enter the room from the set of double doors. There is a light direclty above the whiteboard. The switch is on the left of the whiteboard, next to the switches for the screens.
Screen Controls
There are two screens in HP-124. The switches to lower and raise the screens are on the wall to the left of the white board. The switch on the left controls the small screen on the right side of the room. The switch on the right controls the large screen in the center of the room. This is the screen that should be used in conjunction with the video projector. The switches are labeled as ELECTRONIC SCREEN.
Wireless Microphone

To use the MIC turn it on and adjust the volume with the SHURE wireless receiver which is in the Black Cabinet. Uses a 9 volt battery.
Dual Cassette Player
To use the Cassette player, select TAPE on the receiver. Use the volume on the receiver to control the level.
DVD/VCR Combo Player
To use the VCR insert the VHS tape into the unit and press "play" select VCR1 on the TEAC receiver and select Video on the remote. Note: If you hear a noise from the VCR, use the tracking adjustment or channel up/down to rid of it.

Slide Projector
To use the Slide projectors, use the AMX remote located in the podium drawer or in the booth in the back of the classroom. Keys for the booth can be obtained from your department office.

Remote Control

To turn on the Video Projector, use the Proxima remote control in the top drawer of the podium. Turn it on or off by holding down the green button. It takes a few minutes for the projector to warm up. After the Video Projector is on and you are going to use the computer, press RGB on the remote. If you plan to play a VHS tape or a DVD, press VIDEO on the remote so the image will be send to the Video Projector.
Sound Adjustments For sound source selection and volume control, use the TEAC receiver which is in the black cabinet next to the white board.
Assistive Technology
Assistive Hearing devices and microphones are available to students who are hearing impaired. Please tell your students that they can check out a device from Services to Students with Disabilities in University Hall (UH-183).
